I had a few problems with this.  Managed to figure it out

  |     <outbound-rule match-type="wildcard">
  |         <from>/page/activity/details.faces?activityId=*</from>
  |         <to>/activity/$1</to>
  |     </outbound-rule>
  | 

You'll probably want to substitute the .faces for .seam instead.
