ekusnitz: Are you using a Java 1.4 JVM to try to start up your Eclipse. We found that the Windows version required that we specify a Java 1.5 JVM at the start: C:\apps\eclipse-3.2-clean\eclipse.exe -showlocation -vm c:\apps\java\jdk1.5.0_07\bin\javaw -vmargs -Xmx512M Using 1.5 allowed us to launch the JBoss server correctly from within Eclipse where 1.4 would die with strange error messages.
