Actually, the Unmarshaller error can be fixed by updating the XML namespace declaration in persistence.xml file to strict spec compliance. You will also need the latest Hibernate (not the one bundled with 1.2.1) in order to find resources in a WebLogic 10 EAR. But even after that, I encountered some reflection errors when trying to run the JPA example although I was able to get the Hibernate2 example running.
