I think that you are not getting any responses because there are no tutorials for portlets centered on Eclipse. There are tutorials on creating portlets (the JBoss Portal documentation is pretty good in that regard), but they do not require or use any particular IDE. Personally, I use Eclipse to edit my portlets. I simply add the required JAR file to my Eclipse project: jboss-portal.sar/lib/portal-portlet-jsr168api-lib.jar.
