I would also like it if there wasn't an explicit dependency on the persistence libs. My reason is that we are currently adding JSF/Seam to a big old web app, this app uses other means of persistence. Hopefully there are no dependencies on the old Hibernate jars in the jboss installation (4.0.3.SP1), but there might have been.
