Hummm I changed the code to:

MyLocal local = (MyLocal)ctx.lookup("MyBean/local"); 

But I am now getting the exception:

java.lang.ClassCastException: javax.naming.Reference cannot be cast to
br.com.original.negocio.email.interfaces.IEmailLocal
