I tried that also but it didn't change either of the two problems. I did succeed to retrieve the EntityManager using a normal JNDI lookup or using the @Resource annotation. But I am affraid that there will be complications if I use one of those. For example: how do I get an extended EntityManager when I am not using the @PersistenceContext annotation.
