Hi
I am having the same problem.
I am running JBoss 4.0.5GA on JDK 1.5 and JBoss Portal
I have hundreds on threads in the TIMED_WAITING status. Once they get in to this status
they never come out of it.

Only solution I have so far, is to restart JBoss app server.
