To be more precise, what has been fixed is the automatic inclusion of the tag library in the portlet application as was the case for JSR-168 portlets. If you included the JSR-286 tag lib in your portlet manually, it should have worked fine. A side effect to this fix is that if you use JSR-286 for your portlets, you need to use the JSR-286 tag lib in your JSPs as using the JSR-186 version will cause an error.
