I'm very carefully re-reading 6.1. Seam's conversation model, cross-reading JEE5 tutorial section "The Life Cycle of a JavaServer Faces Page". 6.1 bullet 2 makes a difference between long-running conversation context and temporary conversation context. Then bullet 3, 4 and 5 state whether they apply to long-running or temporary. Bullet 6 and 7, however, don't say whether they apply to long-running only, to temporary only (probably not) or to both (do they?). You might say "long-running, obviously".
