This is only needed if you intend to use MyFaces instead of JSF RI globally, at the
application-server level.

If I am not mistaken, you're basically instructing JBoss AS to disregard the JSF
implementation bundled with AS and use whichever your app is providing. So in essence, you
didn't need to replace RI by MyFaces as described in the Wiki. This breaks Portal
because Portal doesn't bundle a JSF implementation.
Why are you bundling MyFaces with your app? Why not just ADF?
