This is a known problem with ICEfaces. I have already reported it to them.

ie. facesContext.getExternalContext().getRequestParameterValuesMap() returns null, when it
should never return null.

If you check with the ICEfaces team, I would not be surprised if they already have a build
which fixes this problem.
