Thanks for your answer I tried uploading an image to the server using my home computer (Mac OS X, forward slashes) but got the same problem, so the path is probably not the issue. I've also tried to set the <create-temp-files> to false in components.xml (to rule out any write permission issues) but that didn't help me either.
