I tried on JBoss 4.2.1_GA
Comment in application.xml

  |    <module>
  |       <java>el-api.jar</java>
  |    </module>
  |    <module>
  |       <java>el-ri.jar</java>
  |    </module>
  | 
Install common-digester and commons-beanutils on server/default/lib and all it's OK !
