If you use the "portal" configuration of the JEMS installer 1.2.0 BETA
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jboss/jems-installer-1.2.0.BETA.jar?do...

java -jar ~/Download/jems-installer-1.2.0.BETA.jar

You will get:
"A JSR168 portal service on top of EJB3 Profile. Note, this is not a J2EE 1.4
compatible configuration."

(PS: the installer works fine with a JDK 5)
