Was the app server running when you placed the birt.war file into the deploy directory? Or did you copy first, and then start the app server? I have found that many archives will not deploy properly unless the app server is brought up first, and then the file deployed. Also, does birt.war work on JBossAS 4.2.2? If so, you will just have to patiently wait along with the rest of us as the jbossas team fixes the multitude of deployment problems they have introduced with the new deployers in 5.0.
