Do you know why Fedora/Red Hat builds of xulrunner disables the javaxpcom ?
p.s. we will continue to bundle our own, I'm just wondering why this
were done since it explicitly makes
it non-usable for integration into Eclipse.

In build configuration was added such option ac_add_options
--disable-javaxpcom.
By default, XULRunner builds the Java-XPCOM bridge, which requires an
installed JDK. May be on package build machine JDK
hasn't been installed so such option was added.
