Here's some ideas on a new set of MICA icon (so they are true
icons,
not letters). We can resize these, make them bigger for the tabs
themselves (there might already be larger sizes of these).
Before resizing them, we should decide if we want them.
This bagge tag is not ubiquitous for an inventory -- a library symbol
could be better.
Monitor and Operations are imho ok.
I don't like the pen for configuration, as we can write something on
each tab (e.g. operation start time, plugin config) -
a wrench could be better. Or a gear, as we are already using gears in
the timeline for configuration changes.
The alert flash could use some love too.
I am also not happy with the text bubble for events or the sheet of
paper for packages -- the later should rather
be something like a parcel (see e.g. time line icons for this); a
sheet of paper could also mean configuration or inventory or
a page to put notes for the individual resource.
Icons can be very specific to the cultural background - we should run
those by the interaction designers and
perhaps by some translators, as e.g. the alert-flash looks very much
like a condom to me, which some users
may find offensive.
