Pete Muir commented on JBSEAM-1177:
-----------------------------------
For that exact template in the mail example I get this as the subject line in the raw
mail
Subject: =?ISO-8859-1?Q?Try_out_Seam_with_a_cup_of_Caf=E9!?=
It is encoding correctly afaics
This is using current CVS
ISO-8859-1 characters in subject field are not properly rendered

Key: JBSEAM-1177
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-1177
Project: JBoss Seam
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Mail
Affects Versions: 1.2.1.GA
Reporter: Richard Leherpeur
Assigned To: Pete Muir
The MailComponent.encode() method doesn't return the right string and convert non
UTF8 characters into their code.
For instance <m:subject>Café</m:subject> is rendered as
"Café"
To reproduce it, use the mail example, replace examples\mail\view\simple.xhtml file by
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
<m:message
xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"

charset="ISO-8859-1">
<m:from name="Peter" address="peter(a)example.com" />
<m:to name="#{person.firstname}
#{person.lastname}">#{person.address}</m:to>
<m:subject>Try out Seam with a cup of Café!</m:subject>
<m:body>
<p><h:outputText value="Dear #{person.firstname}"
/>,</p>
<p>You can try out Seam by visiting <a
