1)what caused this? ..was the session invalidated due to a timeout or some other
mechanism?
2)any hidden dependency needs to be overtly expressed in the build environment
pom.xml which builds jboss-4.2.3.GA Distro requires ICEFACES version 1.7.2
then the ECO must be validated by build/release manager

Login works fine now but in the middle of booking process (after submiting hotel page)
user is redirected to main page and conversation timeout message is displayed.
Conversation remains present in workspace manager but switching to it results in main page
again.
