Chris Simons commented on JBSEAM-1572:
--------------------------------------
"But if theres no ajax maybe it could work..."
Is this true? I was under the impression that tag was not needed. This also seemed to be
the thought mirrored on the forums by some of the JBoss folks. At least it wasn't
with IceFaces. So we are in the process of moving to RichFaces and then we find
this...really? Why would AJAX need to re-render the div? Can't it just re-render the
children of the s:decorate?
This is really unfortunate if true.
Make s:decorate behave more similarly to ui:decorate
(h:panelGrid-friendly)

Key: JBSEAM-1572
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-1572
Project: JBoss Seam
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: JSF Controls
Reporter: Alex Savitsky
Assigned To: Pete Muir
Priority: Minor
Fix For: 2.1.0.GA
Attachments: renderTagDiff.txt
ui:decorate preserves its children, while s:decorate groups them as one instead. This
makes s:decorate unusable for form fields laid out using h:panelGrid, as there's no
way to separate the field label from the field itself (they are grouped together).
