Solution: Just rewrite the s:token implementation with this: new String(Hex.encodeHex(encodeableValue.getBytes("UTF-8"))); and new String(Hex.decodeHex(decodeableValue.toCharArray())) , because there is a BASE64 encoding problem under JBoss.
