The offending test is this: if ( methodName.matches("^(get|is).*") && method.getParameterTypes().length==0 ) { if ( Introspector.decapitalize( methodName.substring(3) ).equals(name) ) { return method; } } "get" has 3 characters, but "is" has only 2 characters.
