Tom Baeyens commented on JBSEAM-842:
------------------------------------
i have no problem to change the el implementation used by jbpm with another one. I only
must be able to port one feature that I currently support: method binding. In the current
approach, even use method binding and variable binding interchangeably. But I guess that
one will be hard to port.
The only problem is to know which implementation and how to get it done. Last thing I
tried was taking a look at Stan Silvert's work on adding parameter passing in method
bindings. Didn't succeed in understanding how this was added, nor did I get the
structure of the RI of EL.
Can you give me some pointers as to what should be done ?
* which implementation ?
* does it already support parameter passing in method bindings ?
... maybe we'll have to postpone the 3.2 release for this. as this will break
backwards compatibility. maybe it's better to do this between jbpm 3.1.x and 3.2 then
between two subsequent 3.2.x releases.
s:hasRole() in jBPM EL.

Key: JBSEAM-842
URL:
http://jira.jboss.com/jira/browse/JBSEAM-842
Project: JBoss Seam
Issue Type: Feature Request
Components: BPM
Reporter: Gavin King
Assigned To: Shane Bryzak
Priority: Critical
Fix For: 1.1.7.GA
Currently, jBPM uses its own forked EL (which is a problem to begin with....). This means
that it can't see the s: functions.
We need to fix this problem ASAP.
