The JPA example has the same issue. It seems that error is thrown when the "new
JavaBeanInterceptor" statement in Component.java is called.

I've been doing some searching and don't know where it is coming from. I do know
though if I comment out RootInterceptor:145 then everything works fine. I'll keep

Oh, if you comment out RootInterceptor:145 then everything works fine, that indicates the
system is not detecting the EJB3 module correctly. That line should not be executed for
the POJO deployment since EJB context does not exist.
I am looking at the changes in util/EJB.java but it does not seem to affect anything ...

Ya, I'm baffled. The exception is being thrown when JavaBeanInterceptor is first
loaded by the classloader. I'm not too experienced with classloaders and bytecode but
when java loads a class and it's dependencies can it selectively only load classes
that it thinks is goinig to eventually be executed? If java just loads all dependent
classes then how was this working in 1.1.6?
Ya, this issue is officially out of my league. :)
This may be a dumb question but where there any dependency changes? Was the EE5 jars
somehow accidentally making it into the war in 1.1.6?

Yes it can, but I'm not sure exactly what the rules are.
One obvious way to fix this is to use reflection to instantiate EE5InvocationContext. But
it seems strange that this is necessary....

So just a quick update I'm double confirmed that if I change RootInterceptor:145 to
simply "return null;" then everything works fine.
I've tried making EJB.INVOCATION_CONTEXT_AVAILABLE static final and that didn't
seem to help. And I'm out of ideas. The easy solution like Gavin says is to just
load EE5InvocationContext through reflection though it still seems wierd that it appears
to work fine in 1.1.6.
Anyone else have any ideas?

The CNFE is gone now. But the app still does not work. It seems that the Seam security
framework has some issues. I am not using the security framework for login in the app.
