[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-4373) Resolving invalid hosts may take a long time in tests
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins created TEIID-4373:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Resolving invalid hosts may take a long time in tests
Key: TEIID-4373
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-4373
Project: Teiid
Issue Type: Quality Risk
Components: JDBC Driver
Reporter: Steven Hawkins
Assignee: Steven Hawkins
Fix For: 9.1
Depending upon the os configuration the unit tests for the client may take a long time due to invalid host names. The logic can easily be changed though to delay the resolving and speed up the tests.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-4372) Impala AVG returns double when bigdecimal is expected
by Steven Hawkins (JIRA)
Steven Hawkins created TEIID-4372:
-------------------------------------
Summary: Impala AVG returns double when bigdecimal is expected
Key: TEIID-4372
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-4372
Project: Teiid
Issue Type: Bug
Components: JDBC Connector
Affects Versions: 8.7
Reporter: Steven Hawkins
Assignee: Steven Hawkins
Fix For: 9.1, 9.0.3
Impala will return double for avg(int) for example, and the driver will fail to convert when getBigDecimal is called. We need to workaround this.

> If a data source is configured to use RoleBasedCredentialMapIdentityLoginModule, then exception is thrown at startup \[1\], because default username and password are null. Please, add module options "username" and "password" to set up default user (similar functionality have e.g. CallerIdentityLoginModule and PassthroughIdentityLoginModule), so DV is able to properly load data source at startup when no user is authenticated and therefore no mapping could be performed.
> Example configuration \[2\]. Note, there is no exception if UsersRoles login module is used instead of RealDirect. However, it means that EAP users are separate from DV users.
> *FYI:*
> - credentialMap module option should be defined as URL (file://...). It would be nice to have this information in the documentation.
> - I tried to use unauthenticatedIdentity module option for RealmDirect, but same exception has been thrown with different root cause (realm 'ApplicationRealm' not found). I do not know why.

> In many circumstances, clobs should be treated as charsequences to allow for use in string functions (concat returning clob, insert, left, etc.).
> There have also been customer requests to treat clobs as comparable, but that there are a lot of places including at design time where we validate against clobs being comparable that it may not be a good idea.

> The Informix translator adjusts only time value according to server's timezone. Timestamp values are adjusted only if 'DatabaseTimeZone' property is set. Date values are not adjusted at all.
