Description:
I am using a composite key based on a BIGINT and a DATETIME(3) value. The URLs which Teiid generates are invalid in this case. When using DATETIME(0) the links or ok. Example of generated record structure

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5545) Odata V4 Batch processing does not work as teiid/olingo rejects "Accept: multipart/mixed" request header
by Christoph John (Jira)
Christoph John commented on TEIID-5545:
---------------------------------------
Hello Ramesh,
I would like to come back on you regarding the Olingo topic. I have seen that Olingo 2.0.11 was released in February, and I hope that the next Teiid release 12.0.2 will include it. Is this planned?
Irrespective of this, I am having trouble in working on larger database tables with Teiid
https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-5643
As I have not found a solution to the topic yet and as this is blocking my further development efforts, I am now trying to go to the latest Teiid version 12.0.1 in the hope that this solves my issue. To do this I again need to replace the Olingo library for my approach to work. I was therefore wondering, if there have been changes in the teiid-olingo-patches-X.jar file between version 11.2.0 and 12.1 that would make it infeasible to just copy the olingo library files over to the files included in teiid 12.1.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Best regards,
Christoph

> When using Teiid together with SAPUI5/OpenUI5 Odata V4 model, batch processing does not work as Teiid rejects the "Accept: multipart/mixed" header. The issue has been described in
> https://developer.jboss.org/message/986421#986421
> It has been stated that Olingo in general does support multipart messages and it was recommended to remove the header from the request.
> Unfortunately this seems to be not easily possible when using the SAPUI5 framework. I addressed the issue in the SAPUI5 forum under the following issue:
> The result of this discussion was, that the header is valid for the send content. As I am no expert in the topic I do not really have an opinion on that. However,
> https://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc1341/7_2_Multipart.html
> suggests that the header is required. So I am not sure if it is correct or an error to reject the message. However, if Olingo can process the content, it would be great to have a fix for the accept header, or alternatively a config option to enable handling of the Accept header in a way that Olingo processes these data.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5643) When querying a larger dataset, teiid answers with 504 Gateway Time-out and throws exception

Hello Steven,
sorry for the late reply but I have not had a chance to look at the topic earlier. I have put Xmx to 256m. This did not result in a HeapDump. I also tried to increase memory to 1024m this does not help to solve the topic either. What did you mean with
>>Another thing to try is to take odata out of the picture - can you run the representative query over jdbc without issue? And in general how long does it take?
How can I run such a query? With what tool and how can I measure timing?
One further note, when setting log level to debug, I get the following output for a select * on the table. When looking at the sql statement (I find no LIMIT in the select statement) it looks to me like teiid does not set any limits on the query size like we have discussed previously. Might this the bug I am running into? Not shure how I have to interpret the output. It does not look like an error from the output. I mean the result states the amount of records.

> Please note, I am using Teiid 11.2.0 and not 11.2.1 as specified above in this ticket. I was not able to select a version 11.2.0.
> The issue: I tried to query a table with a larger amount of records (about 600.000 records in the table). Teiid responds with
> 504 Gateway Time-out. The server didn't respond in time.
> If Teiid tries to respond with 600.000 entries to such a request, it is reasonable that it runs out of memory or other weird things happen. However, I would expect that in such a case Teiid just answers with a fixed amount of records, say for example 1000, and provides a kind of curser to enable subsequent requests to retrieve more data.
> I am currently trying to find a workaround for the issue, as the issue blocks my work. Is there maybe a kind of configuration option that I have to set explicitly for such a kind of behavior I previously sketched?
> Further note: When I send such a kind of select * request on the table to Teiid, I am also not able for a certain time interval, about a minute, to get a responds to different queries which select a single element on the mentioned table. Such a request then also results in a 504 Gateway Time-out.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5643) When querying a larger dataset, teiid answers with 504 Gateway Time-out and throws exception
by Christoph John (Jira)
Christoph John commented on TEIID-5643:
---------------------------------------
Hello Steven,
sorry for the late reply but I have not had a chance to look at the topic earlier.

> Issue Type: Bug
> Affects Versions: 11.2.1

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIIDSB-46) Support override translators
by Steven Hawkins (Jira)
Steven Hawkins reopened TEIIDSB-46:
-----------------------------------
This added support for custom translator, not for override -
{code}
CREATE FOREIGN DATA WRAPPER postgresql;
CREATE FOREIGN DATA WRAPPER "pg-override" TYPE postgresql OPTIONS (PostGisVersion '2.0');
{code}
Do you want to change this issue to be for custom translators, and open a new one for override?

> Override translators will need supported especially for migration scenarios. By default the current logic will map ddl overrides to the corresponding vdb xml equivalents, which will then trigger a failure to deploy. So things will need to be overriden to map the override to actually installing the translator (there is already an EmbeddedServer method for that given a translator type and properties).

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5649) Isolate wildfly/cli dependent documentation
by Steven Hawkins (Jira)
Steven Hawkins commented on TEIID-5649:
---------------------------------------
Actually this does seem to work ok with symlinks - which redhat documentation is also utilizing. See https://github.com/shawkins/teiid-documents
There is a spring and a wildfly folder (the names can easily change) at the root that link to common content at the root. They each provide a book.json and a summary.adoc. This initial commit shows making the reference guide free of wildfly/cli references (but not vdb.xml stuff TEIID-5670). It does not have the travis job corrected yet, but that is simply a matter of navigating into the subdirectories.
[~rareddy] Are you good with this approach?

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIID-5649) Isolate wildfly/cli dependent documentation
by Steven Hawkins (Jira)
Steven Hawkins commented on TEIID-5649:
---------------------------------------
After many attempts, there doesn't appear to be a good way to get this done with gitbook.
- using if directives in the summary.adoc does not work. It will not predictably include nor exclude based upon book.variable values
- using asciidoc variables in the summary.adoc also do not appear to work
- adding a new summary / readme in a subdirectory with parent links - link:../reference/... causes issues with images and other links
The options are:
1. Switch to a different publishing framework, like asciidoctor
2. separate the content into multiple documents - dev, reference-core, reference-wildfly, etc.
3. use build tricks, such as overwriting the summary.adoc to control what appears in the reference
