Replying to my own question. I can subclass AbstractWriteAttributeHandler.applyUpdateToRuntime() to verify the attribute alternatives for the resource (e.g. HttpManagementWriteAttributeHandler). The only difference is that this occurs at RUNTIME step, not at VERIFY. Is it a big difference?
