Wrapped output coming from xmlsec is well-formed and valid XML. On the other hand SASL base64 values do not allow wrapping. So this to me is a quickstart/test/doc issue, not a compatibility issue.

[~olukas], the signature value is changing whenever the element is read. PL is generating the signature element and value correctly but because of indentation, carriage return is included as {{#13;}}.
The tests pointed out by Honza are not related with this issue in particular. {{SAMLAssertionWrappingAttackTestCase}} is failing because the attack asserted by the test is not possible anymore with xmlsec:2.1.1 because you can not have a {{samlp:Respnse}} inside a {{xmldsig:Signature}} element. The library is more restrict ....
The {{DomElementToStaxWritingTestCase}} is failing just because we are not closing the "writer".
Will investigate now the infamous {{#13;}} and give you more details.

[~aloubyansky] (a) I think, is just me misunderstanding how it actually works. As Brian points out we poll in a loop to pretend it's sync but its really async.
