[JBoss Seam] - s:validateAll and ui:include/ui:insert

Is it possible to use s:validateAll with input tag inside an included file or inside a template file ? When I try, I always get an exception. I get it even if the s:validateAll tag is in the including file. [JBoss jBPM] - HQL query to select taskinstances

Hi I am trying to write an HQL query which will return all TaskInstances for an actor id joining on a VariableInstance for that TaskInstance where the variable has a particular name and value. The stored VariableInstance has a variable of type Long and when I try to get the object by joining, the resulting query defaults to the StringValue column. Does anyone know how I could join the TaskInstance onto the VariableInstance by the Long value column? Basically I need something along the lines of: from TaskInstance as taskinstance join taskinstance.variableInstances as variable where variable.name = 'name' and variable.value = 'requiredvalue' But I need to tell it to use the LONGVALUE column in the table somehow. Hi Ovidio, On the JIRA link i can only seem to browse issues, the submit issue link below on the page is as far as i can see only for JIRA itself. A feature that would help me a lot is an addition to the JMX function of JBoss Messaging. When you open a queue in JMX you can see the number of messages that are still in the queue. There is also a purge queue function. Nothing new sofar. What i would like is to get a list of active consumers in the queue. Each consumer would have a JMX interface where you can see some kind of reference set by the MDB and an indication how long this consumer is running. So, then i can see for what messages are taking a (too) long time for the consumer to finish. If i would be possible, this JMX interface would have a method to stop the consumer from processing and to pick up a new message from the queue. In short i would get two functions to manage the queue. One is to reset a consumer through JMX. The othere is to set a reference for the consumer programmatically within the MDB that will be visible in JMX at consumer level. ---------------- Antoher approach, that might slightly too advannced, is to make a dynamic optimisation of the maximum number of consumers. You might compare it with old school RBDMS that needed skilled DBA's to configure specific parameters for each table. 'Modern' systems can configure themselves on the fly. In a real life situation where you have say 20% slow messages ad 80% fast messages where for example the slow messages only use few system resources. You need an old school DBA to configure the optimal consumer settings. The consideraion is: too many consumers will kill the application server and too little consumers will lead to traffic jams. A solution would be to have a "maximum resource setting", instead of setting a fixed number of maximum consumers. JBoss Messages could add as many consumers as it would wish as long as the whole queue would not exceed XX% of the available resources. So, in terms of speed, JBoss Messaging would then become superior because it will always utilise all available computing power and it will not be restricted to some arbritrary, manual setting. If you add the above mentioned JMX with reference, then that would be similar to a 'log slow query' function that will give the system manager a clue how to improve on the slow or troublesome messages. It probably is a MySQL "bug". Downgrading to Connector/J 3.0.17 solves the problem. Actually the same 'connection closed' errors occur with Hibernate for specific transactions. Version 2 did not had any problems, then in the early versions of 3.0 we had these problems until it was fixed in (about) 3.0.9. The newer releases 3.1 and 5.0 of Connector/J again have these 'connection closed' exceptions. So far not a big deal. 3.0.17 works fine, i guess that hould be the default lib for jbdc. I have resolved this issue. I didn't need to use @JndiName or do anything else special (in any case, thanks Gavin). I'm not entirely sure what the problem was but it went away when I recreated my environment from scratch. My problem was caused by beans not appearing at the root of the JNDI context (for some unknown reason). I do recommend looking at your JNDI tree if you have a similar issue. If using Embeddable EJB see http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=EmbeddableJNDIView. So, as far as I can see there are no issues with having multiple EJB JARs within a Embeddable EJB 3.0 application, so long as you get the JNDI paths correct (as in Seam documentation). It's also important to remember to have META-INF/ejb-jar.xml and seam.properties within the JAR. You'll also probably need to explicitly define each Entity (using class elements) in your persistence.xml. Hi, Does anyone have a complete example of this working end to end. I have been able to get the portlet I'm working on deployed by anything within my xhtml pages that references a bean (bean.method) does not render. It's as if the expression is just skipped. There are no errors in the log either? Any help would be appreciated.
