[JCA/JBoss] - Re: Managed Connection Pool Issue

I am having a similar problem after migrating from jboss 4.0.2 to jboss 4.0.4.GA. My connections are reaching the end fast and the idleTimeout doesn't seem to be recovering the connections. It appears that the connection destroyed count goes up alongwith the connection created count. However, the in use connection count only keeps going up until the application crashes with no more managed connections. Also, I have tried to introduce some connections which aren't being closed and jca gives no warning about them. Please help, it appears that this is a jboss 4.0.4 version issue. Thanks, Kazam. [Clustering/JBoss] - Can any type of file go in the farm dir?

Hi All, (ver 3.2.6) I'm moving my application to work in a cluster. At some point one of my servers, server-01 might get an incoming file. It will process the file a little bit and then stores it locally for processing later. Since the second server, server-02 may be the server that gets the task of further processing the local file I wanted to put it in the farm dir so I created a sub dir farm/incoming. Now when I startup the files that I have in farm/incoming are being deployed by the MainDeployer. Does anyone know how I should handle this? And what types should be specified within <driver-class>? I think, it can only be of class java.sql.Driver. Is that right? [Persistence, JBoss/CMP, Hibernate, Database] - Disable JDBC from using DNS

I am using a local Jboss and Oracle instance on an AIX box to run my application. I have configured my /etc/hosts file for localhost and loopback. I have also edited the /etc/netsvc.conf file to ensure it uses the local host file before looking at the DNS server: hosts = local , bind , nis=auth Lastly, I have verified all the configuration XML files in Jboss have DNS lookup disabled but whenever the primary DNS server goes down, the performance of my application degrades drastically. The only thing I can think of is that teh JDBC is still trying to go through the DNS. Can you disable DNS completely in Jboss or add a secondary DNS? Hi guys, we have the same problem. We have a wsdl coming from the .NET world. We would like to generate the relevant stub + mapping files. We have been able to make our application work with axis. We tried to "port" it to JBoss WS. However, it seems the wstool does not generate all the JAXB mapping classes we need. What are the proper option to generate all the types in our wsdl ? I'm running into a rather strange problem with JBoss. I have a web application that looks up a resource and instantiates an URL to it as follows: final ServletContext ctx = session.getServletContext(); final String resourcePath = "/WEB-INF/web.xml"; final URL url = ctx.getResource(resourcePath); final String externalForm = url.toExternalForm(); // The value of externalForm is something like // "jndi:/localhost/problem/WEB-INF/web.xml". // The following line fails under in specific situation final URL url2 = new URL(externalForm); This usually works as expected. However, I have another web application deployed in the same JBoss server, and once I have used this other one, the "new URL(...)" line fails with a MalformedURLException: java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: jndi at java.net.URL.(URL.java:544) at java.net.URL.(URL.java:434) at java.net.URL.(URL.java:383) at org.apache.jsp.index_jsp._jspService(...) ... This other application is the WebViewerExample from BIRT 2.1.1 (http://www.eclipse.org/birt/), for those of you who would like to reproduce the problem. I see this problem on JBoss 4.0.1sp1 and 4.0.4. I have *not* been able to reproduce it using plain Tomcat (5.0.x and 5.5.x). Has anyone run into similar problem? Any suggestion for workaround? What is the difference b/t the server types JBoss and JBoss Inc? I was getting the same problem with the Finish button not being available for a selected server instance installed as an EJB3 server installation. This was when I set up my server installation as a JBoss v4.0 server type. However, I was able to get my EJB3 project created if I used a JBoss Inc server type to define my server. This also makes me wonder the difference b/t the JBoss Server View and Servers views. Any enlightenment along these lines would be nice. Thanks.
