Ok, let me amend that. I just tried it with the page action returning a symbolic view-id and it still doesn't get added as a query parameter during the redirect. I'm using 1.1 beta. Am I missing something? GenmanI was wondering if JBoss was the direction I wanted to go in. Seeing as I am unfamilair with JBoss AS, Tomcat etc, I am not sure which one if any was the direction I should go. I stumbled into this place via Pentaho and their application so there are numerous options and I am looking at. PeterJ Thank you for the reply. From the sounds of your comments, JBoss is a possible direction for me but now I still need to figure out what pieces and parts will allow me to do the task at hand. So far the Pentaho folks called me back today and helped clarify things regarding their product. I think I may need a more custom app and why I am looking here. [JBoss Seam] - Seam Page Parameters

I have several conversational components that retrieve a List of search results and outject them as DataModels. To make my life easier, I had them all subclass an object with the ability to paginate. To summarize, it basically just keeps track of an offset into the data and a limit (how many results are displayed per page) then I let the DataTable component control the display. To move back and forth there are action methods in the superclass that either add or subtract the limit from the offset. My problem is that because the superclass is generic, it does not know the symbolic view-id to redirect back to the results page and therefore I use: FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getViewRoot().getViewId() As the return. Unfortunately, this method does not cause seam to add the page parameter that I've defined (containing the offset) to the redirect. Is there a reason for this? It binds the offset into the search bean fine on a GET, it just won't add it to the redirect. The documentation states that page parameters are added for redirects to symbolic views that contain the element. Is that the only way they work? Is there a reason that eplicitly specifying a view-id won't work? Hi pgrillo It is very possible to use Seam with just hibernate (Seam is written by one of the original hibernate people). The only downside of not using the ejb3 stuff is the stateless and stateful session beans, but these probably bereplaced by java beans that do exactly the same functionality (minus some transactional stuff and clustering functionality). So my recommendation is to use Seam as it works very well ontop of hibernate. These are my thoughts for what there worth. [JBoss Seam] - Can Seam work with no ejb3 but with Hibernate ORM?

We are planning on using JSF in an upcoming project. We have chosen JSF, facelets, myfaces etc. I am now looking into Seam and possibly shale (or neither). It appears that Seam's session handling, use of annotations, and conversational options are very nice. However, for reasons i dont want to get into, i cannot use EJB3. Basically we have a fairly robust object model that supports persistance through Hibernate 3.0 and it's mapping files. Can we use Seam without EJB3 but with straight Hibernate ORM support? And more importantly, any thoughts on whether and how worthwhile it is without EJB? Ron is correct. In version 1.4.0 of remoting, the configuration property for socket timeout is 'socketTimeout'. I don't think it was until 2.0.0 release of remoting before all the transports were standardized to use the 'timeout' property. All the socket invoker configuration properties for 1.4.0 are covered under section 4.4.4 of the JBoss_Remoting_Guide.pdf included with the JBossRemoting 1.4.0 release download. Is there any way to work around this issue? Is there anyway to invalidate the bean so that its CMR relationship is reloaded even if it has already been involved in a transaction? Has the issue been targeted for correction in any specific release?
