http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/Performance is one of the most intresting ones. Well, most AJAX apps keep their state in client (but in quite different format than what's being done in JSF), but never submit everything at every request back to server. Apache's Trinidad (formerly Oracle ADF) has some kind of delta-protocol for client-server state synchronization. This adds complexity, but maybe it's wise on the performance side. [JBoss Portal] - Re: Default

The Portal displays a portal named "default" by default. I have not been able to determine if there is a way to change this (looking at the source seems to indicate that this name is hard-coded). What I have done to create a new portal is defined the whole thing within a separate *-object.xml file. Then I modified jboss-portal.sar/conf/data/default-object.xml, changing the < portal-name > entry to something other than default. Also, in my *-object.xml file I modified the < portal-name > entry to be 'default'. I placed my *-object.xml file into the jboss-portal.sar/conf/data directory (yes, there are now two *-objects file in that directory). Finally, I deployed the jboss-portal.sar to a clean JBoss installation with a clean database. I was thinking the same.. However, it seems that both (client or server) seems to work ok ;) http://www.google.fi/search?q=javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD seems to find a lot pages, but nothing definite. One page i's reading stated that doing state saving in server is faster, other one said the doing it in client can prevent some problems from occurring... My main reason for trying server side state saving is due to huge size of state information that's being kept in the html form in the hidden fields in the browser. What do you see in the console window that tells you there are two members? Are you sure it's not logging from the JGroups channel that's running from cluster-service.xml? There's no difference in behavior in the cache's member attribute between a TCP config and a UDP config -- the cache knows nothing about the config; that's a JGroups detail. So if the member attribute is showing 2 members with UDP, that tells me that with TCP your caches aren't forming a cluster. I added commons-httpclient, commons-logging and webdavlib to the JBOSS_CLASSPATH in run.sh and that seems to work. I just don't understand why. All the above jars are also in $JBOSS_HOME/lib and $JBOSS_HOME/server/default/lib. Why aren't they picked up from there? Or is this some really funky classloader issue? S. [JBossCache] - TomcatClusteringCache's member attribute lists only one memb

I have two instances of jboss 4.0.2 on two different machines in a cluster using TCP stack. I can see the two members on the command prompts console. But TomcatClusteringCache MBean's member attribute only shows one. i.e if I am on node1, it only shows node1 as the member;and if I am node2, it shows node2 as the member. If I use UDP connection, it shows two members. Suggest me what could be wrong here.
