Think you could help me hunt that setting down? I have a new problem where i have a non portal webapp that has to be deoployed as a different war. It has to read both my portlets session vars and visa versa. Im reading TONS of contradictory posts saying that it can be done with the servlet container descriptor within jboss by setting the emptySessionPath="true" but that doesnt work. Any ideas? really appreciate it. Actually it looks like simply using another EntityManager anywhere in my action bean caused a completely _different_ component (ruleTypes) in the action bean to not be injected. Same result whether I injected it with @PersistenceContext or created it by hand with new EntityManagerFactory().createEntityManager(). I guess using multiple entity managers is verboten. Things just shouldn't be so difficult. I can't be the first person in the world who has ever had to enforce a uniqueness constraint with JPA. Nipun- You need to install a single instance of the Federation Server per domain. So in your case since Machine A and Machine B are on the same domain, you can just install the federation-server.ear file on any one of them. You need to install jboss-sso.sar on both machines though. Just make sure in the jboss-sso.sar/conf/sso.cfg.xml you point to the Trust Server (which is the Federation Server also) |  | <sso-processor> | <processor class="org.jboss.security.saml.JBossSingleSignOn"> | <property name="trustServer">http://node1.jboss.com:8080/federate/trust</property> | </processor> | </sso-processor> | Here make sure the trust server points to the url where the federation server is installed. [J2EE Design Patterns] - Solution/Pattern needed for complex buisiness problem

We currently have a J2EE project built on EJB3 and were hoping to get some help on the design. A little background: Our company sells several products for various companies. Each of these companies have different business rules, etc. Initially when we built our application we were unable to connect to the companies directly via Web Services, etc. And since we were not communicating with an external service, our input was the same for all of the suppliers (with minor differences). Now some of the suppliers have given access to them via Web Services. Since some have this type of service and other don't we have various iterations of rules, etc. You can see that the problem can grow very large very quickly with the diversity of external and internal services. We would hate to code our business logic with a bunch of if then else (if (company a) then do this; else if ( . . . )). In addition like I said the input also differs per company so we also need to keep that in mind. Like any good application, we want to ensure that the UI is uniform and that the business logic is easily manageable. We need some form of a plug and play type of pattern that would allow us to manage these various services much easily rather than having to go to every business method to update it for the new supplier. We were hoping if someone could recommend a solution/pattern that might do us some justice. Thank you in advance. I have the exact same problem: Installed via the webstart installer. I selected C:\jboss-4.0.5.GA, and chose EJB3 clustering and mysql database. When I execute run.bat it causes a system crash and I'm getting a bluescreen. I executed run.bat again, it had the same problem.
