[Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP] - JBoss Web vs Tomcat?

What's the difference between JBoss Web and Tomcat? I have an exploded archive called "jbossweb-tomcat55.sar" in my deploy directory...so that names implies it's both JBoss Web and Tomcat...huh? I have a standard installation of JBoss, and I'm able to serve up static (.html) and dynamic (.jsp) web pages by pointing to the appropriate link in my browser when the JBoss application server is up and running. What is being used to deliver these web pages: JBoss Web, Tomcat, Apache, or JBoss Application Server itself? Thanks a lot. [JBoss Portal] - Re: WSRP consumer

I am using jboss portal 2.6. If I am accessing a remotable portlet which is running within the same domain( without the proxy), I am not able to create an instance of it from the admin page? My question is 1)if I make a portlet as a remotable( portlet.xml) , does it become a WSRP Producer. So does it implement the 4 interfaces and we need not write any code to make it a WSRP producer. I am not able to understand how jboss portal supports WSRP from the documentation provided. 2) Is it only the admin can create an instance and become a WSRP consumer? What is the role of other users with respect to WSRP.... Any help in this regard is highly appreciated. Gavin, thanks for the reply. Some background. I am attempting to write a unit test for an Entity Bean with the intention of unit testing that named queries function as expected. I have followed the test code from the dvdstore example (specifically ProductUnitTest). Any additional pointers as to the more appropriate mechanism for making the Entitymanager available in the test would be appreciated. Related to the NoClassdefFound, what I don't understand is that the the specific class that is being referenced is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/sf/ehcache/CacheException .... | I would expect hibernate.cache.use_query_cache to use the classes from org.hibernate.cache. Is it possible to automatically control access to portal resources using rules based on user profile, session, time, LDAP identity or http request? if possible, is it available out of box or we need to use the API to implement it and where to define the rules? [JBoss Portal] - WSRP consumer

Hi, I am using jboss 2.6 as a WSRP consumer. I am behind a proxy. I have configured my run.bat to set the proxy host, port,user,password. But I am always getting authentication needed as an error message. Thanks for your response. Coming back to the problem, basically, I am supposed to update DB with contents of a file. If anything happens during data insertion, the whole transaction needs to be rolled back. So the reading of file and updating it into the DB should be in one transaction unit. Since there are multiple files to be read, I was wondering if I could open the entity manager before file-read/DB-update and close immediately after. Will CMP still yield better performance for this case too? Sorry if I sound repetitive. I am just trying to understand how Container Manager Persistence (CMP) demarcates the transaction here and handles persistence. When I used the properties with a name messages_zh_cn.properties, messages_zh_tw.properties, it works correctly. One is Simpliflied Chinese, the other one is Traditional Chinese. When I used the properties with a name messages_zh_CN.properties, messages_zh_TW.properties, it works incorrectly. Both choise display with Simplified Chinese. So is it with a bug of upper or lower charaters?
