Hello, I'm looking for code example to use entities in the embeddable ejb3 container. I'm more interested in the code to get the transaction from JNDI I'm not able to get a java:/UserTransaction from jndi, but i can get java:/TransactionManager, and my sample runs... But I dont understand the difference.... can you help me ? First, try using the beta release instead of the alpha. Also, try using a clean workspace and see if the problem still persists. Finally, Please say more about your process other than you opened JBoss IDE and "tried running JBoss". Which view were you using? The Servers view or the JBoss Server View? How did you create the server? How did you try to start it? At what point did you get the error? [EJB 3.0] - Embedded Object in Where Clause

Is it possible to have an embedded object in the WHERE clause of a named query? Say you have a Customer entity with an Embedded Name object. Name contains first_name and last_name. If I write a named query accessing the pieces of Name directly, as in the below query, it works fine: SELECT cust FROM Customer cust WHERE cust.name.first_name = :firstName AND cust.name.last_name = :lastName However, if I try to access the entire Name object in the query, the query fails: SELECT cust FROM Customer cust WHERE cust.name = :name The funny thing is, if I put the server in DEBUG logging mode, and I attempt the second query, the query sent to the database is: SELECT cust.field1, cust.field2 FROM customer cust WHERE (cust.first_name, cust.last_name) = ? To me, it looks like EJB is smart enough to realize that my Name object is an embedded object pointing to two fields in the customer table. However, it is not smart enough to realize that it needs to split up the parameter passed in to the named query into its respective pieces, since I get a SQL error stating "invalid relational operator". Is this just how things are? Thanks! [JBoss Eclipse IDE (users)] - problem with running JBOSS in eclipse 3.2

Hi, I just downloaded the following: This is the 2.0.0.ALPHA release for Windows including Eclipse 3.2RC7, and Webtools 1.5RC4 I opened it up and tried running JBOSS and I am getting the following error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/jboss/ide/eclipse/as/core/JBossServerCore at org.jboss.ide.eclipse.as.ui.views.JBossServerView$TrimmedServerContentProvider.getElements(JBossServerView.java:107) at org.eclipse.jface.viewers.StructuredViewer.getRawChildren(StructuredViewer.java:927) at org.eclipse.jface.viewers.AbstractTreeViewer.getRawChildren(AbstractTreeViewer.java:1135) Can anyone give me any insight on what I need to do or is this a problem with the version? thanks, Marc View the original post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&p=3968229#3968229 Reply to the post : http://www.jboss.com/index.html?module=bb&op=posting&mode=reply&p=3968229

[Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP] - Simple? JSP script

I have a jar file and a JSP script that references it. The jar file contains a class "fortune.Fortune" but when I try the import directive "<%@ page import="fortune.Forutne" %>" i get the error message: "Only a type can be imported. fortune.Forutne resolves to a package" I have tried several places to put the fortune.jar file: * $JBOSS_HOME/sever/all/lib * $JBOSS_HOME/sever/all/deploy/jbossweb-tomcat55.sar/ROOT.war/WEB-INF/lib * $JBOSS_HOME/sever/all/deploy/jbossweb-tomcat55.sar/ROOT.war/ * $JBOSS_HOME/sever/all/server/lib * same directory as my jsp file Each to no avail. Question: 1. Where should I place the fortune.jar file 2. Is there a config file I need to update to reference this jar file? Are you using the default WSRP configuration or are you trying to access a particular producer? I am not behind a firewall that prevents me from accessing remote resources so I cannot reproduce the problem. I will see if there is a way for me to do so. [JBoss Seam] - Re: Integrating Seam and Icefaces

Hello, I'm managed (a couple of months ago) to integrate Backbase Java Server Edition with Seam. BJS is also a AJAX JSF taglibrary. What i did was just "merged" the configurations (web.xml etc) of BJS and Seam.... Also some JAR repositoning was required. Like re/moving commons-*.jars from BB.war and moving other Jars around ( jsf-libs ). It's quite annoying to get a WAR application with it's WEB-INF/lib full of opensource libraries to integrate with other applications (WAR's and EAR's alike) nicely. Currently i'm waiting for the JBoss Portal to grow up and i'm trying to integrate Liferay and Seam.
