[EJB 3.0] - EJB 3.0 - PK Generation with GenerationType

Hi there, The types of primary key generation are defined by the GenerationType enum as shown below (from the ejb-3_0-fr-spec-persistence.pdf Final release): public enum GenerationType { TABLE, SEQUENCE, IDENTITY, AUTO }; But as far as I understood there's no way to use user defined key strategy, i mean, what if I want to generate the keys myself? Please accept my apologies if there's another thread here regarding this issue but I've not been able to find it. Can't we use legacy databases with EJB 3.0??? Please could someone help? I don't really follow you sorry. You could describe PAGE scope as a mini-conversation that spans a single Request-Response-Request cycle. If you are asking whether the PAGE scope can be used to achieve a multi-level Master-Detail view architecture, then yes I suppose it could, but a long running conversation would probably be more useful. For example I use PAGE scope to implement a clickable list where the click takes the user to another view and there is no need to retain any state (other than the item clicked) from the list screen. [Remoting] - Timeout parameter - can I specify timeout per request?

Hi all, In my application, I have a requirement where I have to specify different time out for the requests. I have a default timeout value that I specified in the connector when I created it. However, some requests need more time to complete. [JBoss Portal] - Problems with HelloWorldJSPPortlet

Hi, I have installed JBossPortal . I guess it is running. When i type in http://localhost:8080/portal, i can see the default page. I have read chapter 5 (Portal primer) in user manual. I am trying to run the HelloWorldJSPPortlet, but unable to do so. I have done the following. 1. Downloaded the zip file 2. Build the project using ant 3. exploded it. 4. Did a hot deploy ( I can see on the server command promt that HelloWorldJSPPortlet context path info), by copying the war file to deploy folder under server 5. [Installation, Configuration & Deployment] - can't access jmx-console at hostname, only localhost

Running 4.0.4GA with EJB3 in the all configuration on FC4. I cannot seem to access the jmx-console unless I am connecting to http://localhost:8080/jmx-console I am starting up JBoss with the command run.sh -c all -b 0.0.0.0 (though I have tried the hostname of my machine and the ip of the card itself for the bind address). I have updated server.xml in jbossweb-tomcat55.sar and replace all entries of "localhost" with 0.0.0.0 (though I have tried all other options as well). I do not get an error that I am unable to connect, all I receive is a blank html page so it appears to be connecting to something but stalling. I'm having similar issues with the 403 error. But I did notice one issue with your application-policy. This: <module-option name="java.naming.security.principal">cn=Manager,dc=mycompany,dc=com/module-option> Should be this: <module-option name="java.naming.security.principal">cn=Manager,dc=mycompany,dc=com</module-option> Not sure if that is your total problem but I would think not having a correct closing tag would casue some issue(s).
