[JNDI/Naming/Network] - problem connecting to jbos on another unix machine

Hi. I'm trying to connect to jboss from tomcat. The jboss is running on a different machine with unix operating system. I'm using the following properties: provider.url = jnp://serverName:1099 initial.context.factory = org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory url.pkg.prefixes = org.jboss.naming.client This works well if the jboss is running on the same machine and also if it is running on other windows machines. when trying to connect I get the following exception : javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 137.0.0.1; It seems there is a problem connecting to that port but when I telnet it seems o.k. I get the following : ¼?sr?java.rmi.MarshalledObject|??ù?c?>??I?hashlocBytes[BobjBytesq~?xpÉ§è?ur?[B ?°T??xp2¼?t!http://suse.il.identify.com:8083/q~q~uq~??¼?sr org.jnp.server.Naming Server_Stub??xrjava.rmi.server.RemoteStub????ïße?xr?java.rmi.server.RemoteObject Connection to host lost. Does anyone have any idea ? The getLocalGraphicsEnvironment() call is important as it tries to work out what the display device was that started the application. We found that it was OK if you used say ssh to a remote machine to start run.sh On an X11 workstation we had to add -Djava.awt.headless=true to the JAVA_CONFIG in the run.conf file. [JBoss Portal] - how to hide a portlet/pages that user doesn't have view priv

I am currently using jboss portal2.4GA and having problem to hide pages. I know that JBPORTAL-405 has fixed this problem in 2.4 final, but I don't know how to specify/configure to hide the page/portlet. Any help are really appreciated. Hi: I'm not concerned with what is in the console window. That details how the server itself is starting, and is not an issue here. The issue here is the IDE terminating the process when it shouldn't. What I'm looking for is information from the JBoss Servers View when you expand the "Event Log" tree item. As in the image I linked shortly ago, [http://oxbeef.net/image/code/jbsv_w_properties_7_18_06.JPG] the expanded element shows an attempt to start the server, followed by repeated polling via twiddle, and finally the server state changing. The properties view is showing the properties of a specific twiddle launch attempt and its results. This is the information I'm seeking. Thanks. I think that the PAGE scope means the context lives until the NEXT render response phase. So as long that occurs it will be cleaned up then. What happens otherwise I don't know.
