[JBoss Seam] - Re: How to directly invoke a seam action?

In this particular case, I'm loading a page from an tag, and I couldn't work out a clean way to do that with JSF. Is there a JSF tag that will render an IFRAME with a seam call? I've never seen the actionMethod=searchAction.find syntax before. What version of Seam are you using? Seam uses JSF which is a component-framework not an action-framework, but can behave like an action framework using pages.xml. You should also consider the Seam Factory Pattern which provides an alternative (more JSFish IMO) way of doing much the same thing. [JBoss Portal] - How to add portlets in a new portal?

Hello, I would like to know how to add portlets in a new portal through the descriptors (*-object.xml, portlet.xml and portlet-instances.xml). I know I can use the admin but it is not working for me. Every time I add a new page, it works, then when I re-start my Jboss AS that page disapears from the "admin" option. I am using Jboss 2.4 beta. Thanks Mariella. [JBoss Portal] - I can't see the tabs in my new portal.

Hi, I created a new portal using the example provided by Jboss portal web site. I also associated the industrial theme to that portal. All that works. The issue I am having is that I can't see the tabs. I can't find where I am supposed to set this up. Any ideas? P.S. I tried using the "Admin" module and it is not working... Best regards, Mariella. How do I form a URL that invokes a seam action without having to have a page that I'm coming from? I can't do something like this: http://localhost:8080/application/searchAction.find.seam I've tried doing something like this: http://localhost:8080/application/destPage.seam?actionMethod=searchAction... However, I sometimes get strange error messages, as if the destination page (destPage.xhtml) were getting processed before the "find" method was called. [Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP] - Jboss 4.0.4 GA version request.getInputStream() issue

Hi, I have a simple servlet which extends from ActionServlet. I do following InputStream is = request.getInputStream(); int i = is.read(); or int i = is.available(); It seems that when the servlet is deployed in jboss 4.0.4GA, this inputStream cannot be read and the above code returns -1 or 0 whereas same code works just fine with same client call when deployed on jboss 4.0.3sp1. Can someone please let me know what might be the issue? We have tested on 2 different environment and this behavior is consistent on 2 installation? This simple code should work in either version of Jboss. Is there any difference in Jboss 4.0.4GA and 4.0.3SP1 or underlying Tomcat version which could create this change in behavior. [JBoss Seam] - Problem with extra action method executing

I keep having trouble where the "from" page action seems be getting executed when using the <s:link> tag. Here's one example: Page "one.xhtml" has a pages.xml entry with an action defined, so that the action gets called whenever I view "one.xhtml" (actionOne.load()). There's an <s:link> on one.xhtml that goes to "actionTwo.search" (which goes to "two.xhtml"). When I click the link, the actionOne.load() method is being invoked AFTER actionTwo.search(). 1. I don't want it to be invoked at all, I'm just trying to go to actionTwo.search() 2. Why the heck would it be invoked after actionTwo.search()?
