[JBoss Seam] - Seam Security: authentication and authorization example want

I downloaded the latest Seam Build and tried to incorporate Seam Security as it's explained in Chapter 21. I didn't manage to make security filter work. Probably a simple example would help. Hi Peter, Roy, Thank you I have resolved the issue. It was in fact the portlet helloworldportalpage.war I had installed a few days before. Silly... grep couldn't help in a war file.... Yes I agree a would be very helpful to isolate *object.xml & database & Management Portlet issues after the portal is installed. Thanks again for the GREAT support. Hi, I have a customer who regularly cuts text from Word documents before pasting them into forms I created for him on his web site. The text often contains non-UTF-8 characters such as u2019 for single quotes or u201C for double-quotes. We were having some problems storing these characters in our database, so I added a filter that replaces them with the standard quotes from the UTF-8 set. I tested my work by deploying to a local copy of JBoss on my workstation, which is a Windows XP computer, and it worked fine. I did the conversion using the String.replace function, for example: s = s.replace('\u201C', '"'); However, when I deployed this to my production environment - which has the same version of Java, and the same version of JBoss, but is Linux - it failed. To see what was going on, I tried logging all the characters of the input string using s.codePointAt(). It turns out that instead of getting characters 201C and 2019, I'm getting character FFFD in both cases. Does anyone understand why this is happening? I have been working with Java for almost 7 years, and I have never encountered an inconsistency between its behavior on Linux and Windows before. [JBoss Seam] - NullPointerException in D2DViewHandler.calculateRenderKitId

I'm trying to integrate icefaces with a Seam app and am hitting a snag. Has anyone else seen/resolved this. When I hit the front page, or even debug.seam, I get the following java.lang.NullPointerException | com.icesoft.faces.application.D2DViewHandler.calculateRenderKitId(D2DViewHandler.java:696) | com.sun.faces.lifecycle.RestoreViewPhase.isPostback(RestoreViewPhase.java:241) | com.sun.faces.lifecycle.RestoreViewPhase.execute(RestoreViewPhase.java:170) | com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.phase(LifecycleImpl.java:244) | com.sun.faces.lifecycle.LifecycleImpl.execute(LifecycleImpl.java:113) | javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet.service(FacesServlet.java:244) | org.jboss.seam.servlet.SeamExceptionFilter.doFilter(SeamExceptionFilter.java:46) | org.jboss.web.tomcat.filters.ReplyHeaderFilter.doFilter(ReplyHeaderFilter.java:96) This looks very similar to the issue described here: http://www.icefaces.org/JForum/posts/list/3263.page#15483 The setup is Icefaces 1.5.1, Seam 1.1GA, JSF 1.2. Facelets. [JBossCache] - java.io.NotSerializableException:org.jboss.cache.aop.collect

We use JBoss Cache Version 1.4.1 GA. When trying to serialize an object stored in PojoCache, we receive a java.io.NotSerializableException. Here a concrete example: - we put a Vector, containing String variables into PojoCache on server: (pojoCache.putObject(pojoKey, aVector) - When reading the object from cache (pojoCache.getObject(pojoKey)), we get an object of type AOPClassProxy0, which has amongst others an attribute of type CachedListInterceptor, that is not serializable. - when trying to serialize, we receive: java.io.NotSerializableException:org.jboss.cache.aop.collection.CachedListInterceptor How can we solve this problem? We only need the vector data to put them to client cache after transferring from server to client.
