Now this is really ugly. The server should know nothing about this SelectableSite class and to recreate a new object for an object that is effectively already what we need is crazy. Does that mean RMI is not perfect. What is the reason for this requirement?? removing no-conversation-view-id from components.xml seems not the right way to do it. There are cases users do need to be redirected when conversation doesn't exist. I think the correct behaviour should to create a new conversation when @Being annotated method is invoked and cid's value can't be found. Should I raise it as a bug in JIRA? I simply followed seam doc http://docs.jboss.com/seam/1.1GA/reference/en/html/jms.html#d0e5121 and I haven't added any thing new. The doc seem to be not updated. Well I'd imagine that required=false would be needed a LOT more often if outjection would be done after the first Seam phase...? Anybody know with certainty about this issue? I only know three phases off the top of my head(updatemodel, invoke application, and render phase), but I would imagine that for all 6 phases in JSF, if a Seam component is accessed and requires an outjection, then the assertion (be it false or true) will be made. action method (via h:commandButton) is part of the invoke application phase. get and set property happens during render phase and update model phases. [Beginners Corner] - Where to start?

Hello folks, I am fairly an IBM WAS and HTTP administrator guy and looking to learn JBoss administration. I went though the basic documentation and installed JBoss in Windows and AIX currently. May be because of my WAS/HTTP experience, I am trying to map the features and how-t-dos between WAS and JBoss. I would appreciate if somebody here can point me to any sort of doc(s) that helps me migrate from WAS to JBoss administration? I will be more interested in administration related docs. I'm no expert, but I'll give me two cents. ) Looking through the SOA lens, can the action beans be thought of as services? For example, would it be ok to think of HotelBookingAction as HotelBookingService? Sure. hstang, you're correct, I meant to say required=false in my original post. You said "anytime the owning component ... requires an outjection, the assertion will be made". When does it require outjection? You mentioned it's during invoke application or render phase, so is it correct for me to believe that it's only when an action method is accessed rather than just get/set a property upon first page access?
