Ah, yes, I talked to Gavin at some point and I agree with him that the semantics are currently correct. i.e. install="false" says (in all place) don't install this implementation of the component. It doesn't say (in any place) don't install this and any lower precedence versions of this component. Thus we need something like e.g. <web:ajax4jsf-filter disable="true" /> which essentially sets install="false" on all components with this name. The implementation for this is easy enough, but I don't like the semantics of the above - I mean normally you put a definition in components.xml to install/configure a component, not to disable it... Pete, Thanks for the reply. Something really strange is going on. The best way to describe what is happening is I have several of these drop down lists, one for status, one for priority, etc. I can go in and make an unrelated change to the xhtml fragment, compile and deploy it and the error below fires on one of the list boxes. I go back to the xhtml, re-edit the selectOneMenu with the exact same information, deploy it and the problem moves to the next list box. Its like I have the wrong version of a serialized object or something. I stop/start JBoss, but the problem remains. Any ideas? Cheers! [EJB 3.0] - dataTable(s) with multiple entity beans question

I'm developing a JSF/Seam/EJB3 web app (using Seam 1.2.1.GA and JBoss 4.0.5.GA). I have a use case to dev that has data in a <h:dataTable> from three different DB's. Possibly only two but think multiple datasources for now. Does JSF/EJB3 support multiple entity beans in the same <h:dataTable>? How should I handle this? Should I use a different <h:dataTable> for each entity bean? Two of the tables are read-only (for display) and the new one on the new DB will be full CRUD. I'd like to use JPA entity beans as Seam works well with them rather than stored procedures. Also, there is an existing t-sql stored proc that I could use and it returns three of the columns in the datatable in the current .NET version. We will be migrating to Oracle in the future, so another reason to go with entity beans if possible. The Seam hotel booking example only updates/persists one entity bean when you book the hotel. Let's say there was a credit card table as well for multiple credit cards. How would you handle this now? any feedback appreciated. thx.
