You can observe the event in your code if you want to. I don't really understand why it fails. Put a breakpoint on getCurrentDateTime and see when it is called, and what date is returned. What do you mean "when I access a page, which contains no component reference in the conversation scope"? The way your have everything configured Seam should never be attempting to create a transaction before a conversation is created. Can you describe more what you're doing to get Seam in this state? You really should look into SELinux, disable it if it is running. It can cause weird problems like this. Did you by any chance change the jbossas config to use a port other than 1099 as the jndi port? Run a netstat to see if 1099 is open. Also, try shutting down by logging in as root and running: service jboss stop this should attempt to stop the app server using the same account used to run it. You could try adding the error handling to server/xxx/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/conf/web.xml. My understanding is that this web.xml provides the defaults for ass web apps. Peter, thanks for the quick reply ... I appreciate that.. I suggested the same and they dont want it that way. All I need is to set it to a particular day ... say .. ask the scheduler to run every monday or tuesday... They say they want it that way so that they can change it with ease and also monitor only on that particular day of the week...so i dont think I can use the date format... Have you any idea ?? LL, I am trying to replicate the problem, but I have a few questions. 1) Originally, you stated that the your WAR contained: myapp/conf/config.properties myapp/WEB-INF/ etc etc Did you really mean the the WAR is as follows: myapp.war | + conf | + config.properties | + WEB-INF In other words, within your WAR there is not a base directory named myapp and that instead both conf and WEB-INF are base directories. 2) You stated that the code "class.getResourceAs()" is used to access the properties file. My understanding of getResourceAsStream (which is what I think you meant) is that the file is loaded using the class loader, and therefore the properties file would have to be located at WEB-INF/classes/config.properties (or within a jar in WEB-INF/lib). I assume that in the WAR file there is a conf base directory and the properties file is located in that directory. Could you post the exact code used to access the properties file, including the code that obtained the 'class' variable. 3) I noticed you are using 5.0 beta2. Have you tried your app in 4.2.x? Does it work there? The reason I ask is because the deployer in beta2 is broken in so many ways, in which case you might have been lucky enough to find another way that it is broken.
