Actually, any JTA-compliant TM should do, I suppose, JOTM was picked only because it was the first one I've heard about (I plan to try Atomikos, and to ask around who's using what on Spring forum). No MC for me for sure, as any appservers are off-limits in our environment, and the ability to use Tomcat DS is a must. Now, sorry for being persistent, but could you expand a little bit more on why you couldn't use Seam-managed Tx in your setup? Yes, it is compressed with tne ant's task ear and the MANIFEST.MF doesn't containg anything. Here is the MANIFEST.MF Manifest-Version: 1.0 Ant-Version: Apache Ant 1.6.5 Created-By: 1.5.0_10-b03 (Sun Microsystems Inc.) And here is the application.xml <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <application xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.4" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/application_1_4.xsd"> <web-uri>happyportal.war</web-uri> <context-root/> happyportal.jar The message apears only during the hot deployment. If I stop the server and I start it again, it doesn't apear any more. And the application works properly wether the exception is raised or not. I noticed also that the hot deployment doesn't work for EJB3, raising ClassCastException. Stoping and starting the server solve the problem. Hi, There is one subtility that can explain the issue : Trans1 ( persistance Unit 1) === (Required) ==> Trans2 (Persistance Unit 2) FAILS with could not enlist ... IMPORTANT : We use a new persistence unit in Trans2 Trans1 ( persistance Unit 1) === (RequiresNew) ==> Trans2 (Persistance Unit 2) WORKS !
