The problem with JBoss hot deployment today is that redeployment occurs when something changes. Which means that if you are editing stuff in eclipse, and the seam-gen build is copying that stuff across to the deploy dir, you have two choices: (1) touch the descriptor every time, and get thousands of redeploys (JBoss blows up when it runs out of permgen space) (2) don't touch the descriptor until user explicitly asks for a restart (which is irritating to user) The way Seam's hotdeploy works is that it redeploys the components when a request comes in, and it notices that there has been some change in WEB-INF/dev. Which means that you avoid the permgen errors. For what it's worth: I strongly agree that rather than rolling your own, the app server itself should be made more flexible. In fact reloading works even right now, if you don't change anything Seam specific, right? At least I seem to have no problem with hot deployment when I just changed the implementation of a method. [JBoss Seam] - Eclipse, JBoss & exploded deployment

Hello, I'm spent the whole day trying to figure out how to convince the Exadel Studio to deploy ear, war, ... to my JBoss AS in an _exploded_ format (just like seam-gens ant script does). I don't care if I use Exadel, JBoss IDE or just plain Eclipse with WTP but I would like to use Eclipse _without_ seams ant script and I found several threads here but none showed a solution - although it seems that many of you are using it this way. So could someone *please* give me a hint how to configure Eclipse to deploy my ear & war in an exploded format to a certain directory! Thanks a lot in advance! [JBoss Seam] - using self-signed certifate with seam security

Hi, I have a self signed certificate that i want to use with Seam 1.2Patch1, since it now supports SSL. I have created a JAAS DatabaseLoginModule policy but i can't figure out how to make my authentication method make use of that instead of programmatically authenticating users. Also, the changelog on Seam 1.1.6.GA says a digested password feature has been added now. Can anybody give me an idea on how to use it to save and retrieve disgested passwords instead of cleartext? Lastly, I realise that when i type the url of a page with login-required="true", i'm sent to my login page, but i'm not redirected to the page requested. It only works properly when the request came from a link. Any thoughts? [JBoss.NET] - WSDL missing...

I have been struggling with this web service for about a week now. The problem is that it deploys fine, I can see it at my URL https://localhost:4950/eswd/services, but when I try to view the WSDL, which sends me to https://localhost:4950/eswd/services/urn:SelfService?wsdl, I get a 404, Page Not Found. No errors in the logs at all, just a 404. The weird thing is I have other web services deployed, and they all work fine, just not this one. The base URL is different, but that shouldn't matter. I am missing something here...can someone please point me in the right direction? I can post code if that helps.
