Today I encountered the same EL linkage error. It turned out to be (partly) a myeclipse issue. When you add JSF / Facelets support the facelets libary is automatically added to your web project. Myeclipse will copy the jars of this library into your WEB-INF/lib directory on deployment. And guess what: It contains el-ri library... So, just remove the MyEclipse Faclets library from your web project and redeploy. [Tomcat, HTTPD, Servlets & JSP] - Foreign Context

Hi all, I am trying to get a context across web apps so that I can include JSP page in another web app as follows: ServletConext ctx1 = config.getServletContext(); ServletConext ctx2 = ctx1.getServletContext("/aa/bb"); RequestDispatcher rd = ctx2.getRequestDispatcher("/cc"); rd.include(request, response); However, the first web context I have is "/aa" and the second one is "/aa/bb." At runtime, it doesn't seem to resolve "/aa/bb" correctly. Instead, it gave me the same reference as ctx1. This code runs fine if the second context doesn't start with "/aa". I guess somehow app server thought "aa/bb" is a part of "aa". Am I violating any Servlet spec or missing something here? What is the right way to do it without changing the context names. Any workaround? I run this JBoss 4, by the way. Thanks a lot! I think the most simple explanation is that event scope means that you're data is stored in the request (servlet or portlet). It is available through the request - response lifecycle. Page scoped data is stored in the faces tree so if you were to create a page scoped object while a page was being rendered, it would survive the postback to the server and be available through at least the following invoke application phase. The thing to keep in mind with page scoped data, however, is that because it's stored in the component tree it will usually be serialized between the time the page is rendered and the postback. For attached entity beans that is usually not a good thing. All, I am running JBOSS 4.2.1.GA, SEAM 1.2 and have configured 5 filters that implement AbstractFilter. Thanks for looking into it. If I have authenticate(String userName, String password) only in one endpoint/1 ejb3, it works. If I have authenticate(String userName, String password) and authenticate(String userName) in one endpoint/1 ejb3, it did not work. I thought authenticate(String userName, String password) in 1 endpoint/1 ejb3 and authenticate(String userName) in different endpoint/ejb3 should work. But it did not work. Both ejb3s were packaged into the same ear file. Since both ejb3's have different name spaces, I thought it should work, but it did not !! Am I missing something? Your help will be appreciated. [JBoss Seam] - pdf redirects to blank page

I like very much the approach seam takes to generate pdf using jsf engine. It's cool. However, right now there is a problem (also in the itext sample): When pdf is generated and downloaded, the browser is redirected to a blank page. This means that the user will have to do a backbutton or close a window(in case the pdf was redirected in a popup). Both alternatives are unusable in a commercial application with a professional look. Is there any solution to this problem? Thanks. Found the solution! My company requires the use of a proxy to access the Internet, and since I didn't have Tomcat set up to use it jBPM was hanging on locating the DTD for my pageflow.jpdl.xml file. [JBoss jBPM] - Custom TaskInstance as EJB3 entity, how to?

I'd like to extend TaskInstance. In particular customised task instance has to keep references to other EJB3 entities (to be used in queries for instance). How it could be implemented/configured?
