No, still doesn't work - if I add the factory only to the user controller, then admin controller uses it as well, as it's the only one defined (filtering where it shouldn't), and if I add one to admin as well (returning null, of course), then user controller uses that one, too... So I guess I'm back to the no-op method, which seem to be the only working here :( Anyway, thanks for help. I guess it would be nice to be able to specify a default resolver for a page (in pages.xml), so that on page load, a particular bean would handle all outjection - what do you think, is this a sensible way to handle such situation? Thanks PeterJ. I found 1 occurrence of the default-object.xml file in the JBoss folder. Making any changes to that file doesn't seem to make any difference to the list of portlets displayed on the default page.. Is there something else I need to look at? Thanks. add entry to config xml file : <attribute name="NodeLockingScheme">OPTIMISTIC</attribute> Then error returns. This was one entry I added to the config file before the initial error. Is the entry correct? Is there any reason the NodeLockingScheme would null out the Transaction Manager? As i recall, tasks should be initiated in the start state. I've seen it work in 3.2.1, although i didn't programatically invoke it. I just used the web-console. A workaround is that you can have a start state that does nothing but transition to your first task node. With that workaround, you would also be able to use swimlanes in the first task node. Fixed! The problem was that I had portal-server-lib.jar (a JBoss Portal JAR) in my WAR's WEB-INF/lib. I had it in my build path for use in constructing my custom JBoss Portal theme. But during my build it was being copied (incorrectly) into my WAR. By the way, portal-server-lib.jar is found in server/default/deploy/jboss-portal.sar/lib. Problem solved! I don't think DataModelSelections mix with h:selectOneMenu. A method marked with @Factory("foobar") is called if the foobar variable in context contains null when foobar is referenced in EL. Check Seam tutorial for a working use case.
