[JBoss Portal] - Re: Updated Preferences not available

No user will be updating the preferences. Edit option is not provided to users for this portlet. Is there some configuration that can stop the portal from storing data per user? If not is there any utility / api that can delete all user data for a given portlet? (To wipe off the caching, in a way.) Hi Katta, I think you're asking if you can replace a Spring transport with a Remoting transport. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about Spring to answer your question. However, I would definitely like to know the answer. If you learn more, I hope you will post the information in this forum. I will mention, by the way, that our performance tests have suggested that the Remoting socket transport together with JBoss Serialization is faster than the Spring RMI transport. Unfortunately @RequestParameter injection will not work with pare redirection. You will have to use page parameters(pages.xml) to make it to work. Interesting question. Let's see if I understand. You have devices communicating with your server application, which then makes EJB calls. And you want the devices to make the EJB calls themselves? If I understand correctly, then the answer is "it's possible but not necessarily trivial". EJB's don't care how the method invocations get to them. In fact, people regularly use a number of different transports, both inside and outside Remoting, to communicate with EJB's on the JBoss Application Server. Of the Remoting transports, the most commonly used are probably the socket and the http transports. It sounds like you want to replace the built-in Remoting transports with one (or more) of your own. In fact, new transports can be plugged into Remoting, though they may not be trivial to write. If this is what you want to do, then I can probably give you some guidance. If I recall correctly, on first access to a server app, the server sends both the jsessionid in url and the creation of the cookie. Then, if in subsequent requests the user sends the cookie, it doesn't put the jsessionid anymore for that session (unless you configure it for not using cookies). The first time does both because it doesn't know if the user has cookies enabled or not. Maybe it helps. Hi Ronald, thanks for working on that. I tried on JBoss 4.0.4, which comes with myfaces (1.1) in tomcat5.5.sar. I removed the jars, but that didn't work either. The only chance that this is "regular" class loading problem is that there are some faces-jars somewhere else in jboss ("find" didn't find any of them though) I will check with a fresh install later on. As sais here, using FileAppender or any "common" subclass leads to errors on clusters http://www.oreillynet.com/cs/user/view/cs_msg/17235. The problem is due to Log4J not rolling the files consulting the underlying system. Log4J mantains a counter of how many bytes has written to the file. Hello *, i have a small problem. I noticed that in 4.2.1 GA the deployment prefix handling changed. I deploy my beans under my/TheBean in the myear.ear. And now the bean is deployed under myear/TheBean. Can i change that in config back to "my"? [EJB 3.0] - Does Jbossesb 4.2 server supports EJB2 container

hi, i was trying to deploy business_service example in jboss 4.2 GA server. But it prompts the message that it requires EJB3 container.I was reading docs and one docs says that its automatically deployed in jbossejb but the other quick start says that it doesn't. I am in delima and expecting to execute getting started examples Please reply me if u faced same problem.
