No, by lookup("some-jndi-name") I do not mean looking up the properties file. I meant looking up an object in the JNDI tree using the name of that object. For example, if I have an EJB whose JNDI name is "my/ejb", I would use lookup("my/ejb"). One suggestion - don't use or work from directories with spaces in their names - some Java libraries will trip over the spaces. This is not causing a problem here, but you could trip over this later. Below you had mention ...lookup("some jndi name").. Does mean doing something like ..lookup("jndi.properties") or were you meaning something different? If so, can you explain a little more in detail? Unfortunately, I have no idea what com.filenet.api.util.UserContext.createSubject() does, but it is apparently using the URI passed as the JNDI host name. A typical JNDI lookup, using the jndi.properties file you gave (porvided that properties file is in the classpath) looks like: javax.naming.Context ctx = new javax.naming.InitialContext(); Object obj = ctx.lookup("some-jndi-name"); Nothing in your code looks like this. No, I said that JBossAS 4.0.2 is 4 to 5 years old. The binding service has been the centralized way to configure port ever since I have worked with JBossAS (3.2.3), and continues to work even with EAP 4.3. (My comment about not having tried 4.3 was that my group has not adapted our app to 4.3.) Copy the sample-binding.xml file to dsome handy location. I put it in the "server" directory, and also rename it - what name you use doesn't matter. Then change the jboss-server.xml file to reference it (there is already an entry for it, but it is commented out). However, the binding service is not (at this time) working with any version of JBossAS 5.0 due to the changes in how deployment is being done. The binding service is being deployed to late and many of the services have already bound their ports before the binding service start. Hopefully this will be fixed in 5.0.0.CR1, and if not it should be fixed by 5.0.0.GA. [JBoss jBPM] - Re: jBPM Java implementation; what does the ExecutionContext

ExecutionContext is used to provide context for ActionHandlers. It is best not to think of it as a long-lived object - more as a "face" that JBPM exposes to ActionHandlers and other bits of client code that it calls into. It is at least token-specific - I don't THINK more than one can exist for a given token at one time, but I'm not sure - there might be weird cases (say, when doing a join) where there might be. [JBoss jBPM] - Re: Error in Process Definition Deployment.

Ok mputz and thank you for your reply! I downloaded the file jbpm-jpdl-suite-3.2.2.zip, that came with hibernate, hypersonic db, the jbpm 3.2.2 and the jboss (everything that I need, I think), so I am working with the Jboss that came with this file and the hypersonic DB. I didn't change anything, I am using the default configurations of all (the jboss, hibernate, config files, hypersonic db...) I am using Windows XP. I did a simple workflow, like the websale example. I deployed it from eclipse and I can run it from the jBPM Console. Now I want to run it from my java application, but I receive the error "couldn't find process definition "NameOfMyProcess"". My java application code, the complete error message, and config files are above, in my other comments. Any help would be appreciate! Any other information that I can tell you, please, ask me!
