Never mind. I got it working. In jboss-portal-2.6.5.SP1/server/default/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/server.xml, I apparently needed to set autoDeploy="true" and deployOnStartup="true". Furthermore, my expanded web application directory needed a war extension, or I got INIT_WAITING_DEPLOYER errors. [EJB 3.0] - Entity value already changed in @PreUpdate method

I need to know the before and after values when an update occurs. I can clearly see using the debugger that when the preupdate annotated method is called the value of interest already has the new value/changed! My intent was to save the old value in the @PreUpdate method and then use it during the @PostUpdate for comparison. With this behavior this approach wont work. Isn't the entity supposed to have the old value during @PreUpdate method call? Looks like you are running on a Mac. Please post the contents of your /etc/hosts file, and perhaps someone who runs on a Mac can point out if there are any issues with it (if it was Linux I could probably spot the error). [JBoss Portal] - Can deploy non-portlet war files to JBoss Portal Server?

Hi, I have a small web application that runs under Tomcat. It is the server-side for an Adobe Flex 3 client, and is built around BlazeDS. I am having trouble installing it under JBoss Portal Server 2.6.5 SP1 (OS X 10.5.2). Once I expand the war file into the jboss-portal-2.6.5.SP1/server/default/deploy directory, I see these errors on startup: 11:38:05,767 ERROR [Scheduler$Listener] Invoke of the Schedulable MBean failed javax.management.MBeanException at org.jboss.mx.interceptor.ReflectedDispatcher.handleInvocationExceptions(ReflectedDispatcher.java:180) . . . Caused by: org.jboss.portal.portlet.InvokerUnavailableException: Problem getting service description for producer self, please see the logs for more information. at org.jboss.portal.wsrp.consumer.WSRPConsumerImpl.getPortlets(WSRPConsumerImpl.java:156) . . . Caused by: java.io.IOException: Could not transmit message at org.jboss.ws.core.client.RemotingConnectionImpl.invoke(RemotingConnectionImpl.java:204) . . . Caused by: org.jboss.remoting.CannotConnectException: Can not connect http client invoker. at org.jboss.remoting.transport.http.HTTPClientInvoker.useHttpURLConnection(HTTPClientInvoker.java:333) . . . It seems the bug is present in 2.0.4. I'm currently using JBoss-3.0.1-native-2.0.4 and JBoss AS 4.2.2 and the bug is still there. File name: Teste.ejb3 File Content: '--br/com/company/clazz.class '--META-INF '--ejb-jar.xml '--jboss.xml ejb.jar.xml ------------- <...> <display-name>TesteEJB</display-name> </...> jboss.xml ----------- <...> <context-root>/TesteEJB-WS</context-root> </...> The context-root when deployed: '/Teste.' If I changed the extension to 'jar' the context-path goes like: '/Teste' (without the dot '.') In either way the jboss.xml is NOT read. Hope hearing from you shortly. Hello, I am looking into JBoss Portal looking for the following functionality. I have two different web sites and need to merge them to look like one. The users should log in once and see a common interface for both of the sites. One site is in php and the other in Java (Oracle AS).
